British Court Rules Al Gore Film Exaggerated Climate Claims
Thursday, October 11, 2007

Lewis Smith

Al Gore’s award-winning climate change documentary was littered with nine inconvenient untruths, a judge ruled yesterday.

An Inconvenient Truth won plaudits from the environmental lobby and an Oscar from the film industry but was found wanting when it was scrutinised in the High Court in London.

Justice Burton identified nine significant errors within the former presidential candidate’s documentary as he assessed whether it should be shown to school children. He agreed that Gore’s film was “broadly accurate” in its presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change but said that some of the claims were wrong and had arisen in “the context of alarmism and exaggeration.”

[Jeez, how bad do you really need a SUV over a sedan?]

4 kids + 2 parents won't fit in a Fiesta, plus Al Gore drives a fleet of SUV's, I don't own one.

So true...And to think that he very well may win the Nobel Peace prize for that piece of crap. That prize used to actually mean something...now it's a joke.

" A Convenient Lie" would be more appropriate. Gore knew the film was fiction but chose to mock the scientific community and present this fiction as fact.

Hooray for the British Court with the gumption to disclose the "facts" about the film.

Later in that same article it says that despite the 9 errors, that many of the claims were fully backed by science and that he agreed with the main thrust of Gore's argument:

"Despite finding nine significant errors the judge said many of the claims made by the film were fully backed up by the weight of science. He identified “four main scientific hypotheses, each of which is very well supported by research published in respected, peer-reviewed journals and accords with the latest conclusions of the IPCC.”

In particular, he agreed with the main thrust of Gore’s arguments: “That climate change is mainly attributable to man-made emissions of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide (‘greenhouse gases’).” "

That or "Global Warming I invented it" by Al Gore.

These people don't realize that for one to win an Oscar or one of those dippy awards even the Nobel Prize, they have to pay into it to get nominated and then it's voted on so he bought his award and now he's going to buy his way into a Nobel Prize.

So your saying there is global warming, just not that much of it? Isn't it still a bad thing?
Jeez, how bad do you really need a SUV over a sedan?
Those Hummers look stupid anyway.
Every new home in America should be built with solar shingles and a small wind generator on the roof. What else is the roof good for but keeping off rain? Why not try and grab some ambient energy on the way by and use it?

The name of the film is fine. The 'inconvenient truth' is that Gore doesn't follow any of his own advice. That's the secret: he's a hypocrite.
