I have the same issue with my 3-month old baby. He's given his head a good solid thump a few times with no reaction or with a smile. He's perfectly fine (I've consulted with books, other parents with children of varying ages, and nurses about this).
I honestly think that the smile is just a knee-jerk reaction of sorts for an infant their age. Just like they may smile for gas, poops or other things we, as fully developed adults, wouldn't smile for (heck, we may even scream about some of these things!).
When in doubt, call the pediatrician's office and speak with a nurse. They'll tell you what to look out for if something's wrong with your baby and may be able to give you more information.
Also, I'm learning through experience (as you probably are, too) that babies aren't quite as delicate as we think they are. They're pretty sturdy, so to speak, and can withstand quite a bit more than we think they're capable of. We'll get used to it in time, and will probably look back and laugh at ourselves being so fussy and worrysome =)

By the sounds f it your son is not ready. He is supposed to get all his nutrients from his milk and at 3 month should be drinking 7 ounces every 4 hours and sleeping through the night so that makes about 28 - 35 ounces a day. You should take him off it. Childhood obesity only comes into it when the children get fed all the wrong types of foods. But your son will not be getting the right nutrients if he is drinking so little.

RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must be a first time mom and as a first time mom you will usually over react to every little thing. If the baby is acting normally and there was no injury to the area - I wouldn't worry. The back of a baby's head is fully formed and so its pretty tough back there. You really have to be careful of the soft spot until that closes and becomes fully formed. GOOD LUCK and RELAX it will all turn out just fine.

She sounds like she's fine. If she doesn't have fluid or blood coming from her ears or nose there's probably nothing to worry about. Your hand was there right? Could be that you took the force, not her. Also check her head where the ball hit,if it doesn't feel like there is fluid between the skull or feel swollen then there's nothing to worry about.

She'll be fine. I know you are freaking out but if she didn't cry or show signs of any swelling or anything to worry you then she is okay. I fell off my parents bed when I was six months old onto a hard wood floor and I think I turned out okay! =D

Babies get lumps and bumps. SHe would have cried if it hurt her.
If he was a major accident you'd look at her eyes and see if one pupil is larger than the other, or if she's having trouble noticing movement. At three months its hard to tell what babies are looking at, so just stick with unmatched pupils.
Extreme lethargy, inability to wake the child from sleep, and siezures are all signs of severe head trauma. Even a lump on the head is acceptable. Goose eggs are common on babies heads from falls and bumps.
She sounds just fine to me.

Are you kidding me!!! You did not take the baby to the doctor at all??? That should have been your first reaction, when ever something like that happens to a newborn. PLEASE call the doc/go to the E.R. you never know what damage this may have caused internally. Until the doctor says other wise: yes I would be worried. Call his/her doctor right now and let him/her know what happened.
Take Care....

Call your doctor and schedule a check up. If the child is acting strangely or their pupils are dilated go to the emergency room.
