I had Kazaa..........its okay, though is limited compared to the other services out there.

Limewire.......its sucks, you can get a lot from it, but all the viruses suck

I now have soulseek.......I am very happy with it and its offers so much more than Limewire......no viruses for me

Seems to me the person is asking about Kazaa Gold and not Kazaa. If these people knew what they were talking about, they would know that the 2 are completely different and have no affiliation whatsover. Kazaa is free and in fact is no more. They quit the biz a while ago. KazaaGold however (actually it's www.MyKazaaGold.com) is alive and well and does not give their software away for free. They charge you for it so they don't have to fill it full of spyware. From what I have heard, their software works magically and does no harm to your computer.

Just my 2 cents

DO NOT GET KAZAA! it will completely destroy your computer. I got Limewire Pro which has been running fine for about 3 or 4 years. Its just one single payment of $18 and you get an unlimited amount of music forever.

I hated Kazaa, it caused too many problems. I use Ares now - there's a one time charge, but I think it's worth it. Otherwise, you can always use iTunes. Songs are $0.99 a piece, but at least you'll know it's legit.

Kazaa ruined my pc. Don't use it. Limewire sucks too. Just get your music from iTunes.

Any free site WILL give you viruses regardless of whether or not your anti-virus software picks it up. Downloading legally is the only way to save your computer. www.purevolume.com is a website that has a lot of bands on it who maintain their own pages, sometimes they let you download songs from them for free.
