Dublin is the capitol city of the Republic of Ireland and as such is not in the UK.

I have read many answers in other places stating that Ireland is in the UK - Northern Ireland is, Republic isn't.

Where Is Dublin

2016-10-01 07:33:56 · answer #9 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

No, Dublin is not in the UK.

Neither is it in 'Southern Ireland' as there is no such country.
The name of the country that Dublin is in, is, according to the Constitution, Ireland, or in the Irish language 'Éire'.

Dublin is the capital city of Ireland and is independent of the UK in the way that Spain and France and Poland are also independent of the UK.
