No, you can still get a decent job with what YOU have on your record. Most companies nowadays are run by young execs that have similar stuff in their past, they just want to be sure that it is in your PAST. And as for the old heads, they are getting DUI's left and right nowadays to, including judges. You'll be just fine. But hey at least you are worrying. That is a key sign that you are maturing, I wasn't always no fun, I used to party, but I grew up. You just have to know what your priorities are in life, and don't let your games get confused with your goals.

Being forced to start your own business is not a bad thing. You just can't laze around like you can in many jobs. Every action counts when you have your own company and you help to make both your country and community a better place and resist socialism. Our society is getting more and more employee based, which is not good and does not incent the right kinds of behavior. People have unrealistic expectations of an employer and the government encourages this through our policies. People now are starting to feel that the employer should not only give you a chance to work, they think that the employers should also pay high wages, provide all kinds of insurances, finance retirement and then pay you after you are no longer working. Employment is just a trade of skilled time for compensation, nothing more. All employees are really self employed with their own businesses, they just sell all their time to one client and therefore are in a position of risk.

Not at all, but you have to work at it to get the job you want. I had a criminal record, spent now, so went back to college and did some A levels and now I have a good job in a law firm and am doing my law degree at the same time.

Yes, you can get a decent job! It takes patience and determination. I know someone who has a felony record and 2 misdemeanors! He is very successful in the business of fitness! Don't lie on an application. Be honest and upfront.

It could depend on the criminal record. If it was for theft, you probably cannot work for a company that requires bonding for employees. I have worked in places that would hire a murderer before hiring a thief.
