Yogurt is great at this age. Yo Baby has the right kind of fat for babies, esp if they are weaning from breast milk or formula. Also, Cheerios are good b/c of the hole in the center, even though they can't chew them they won't choke on them.
The thing with chewing is this....they don't need to have ANY teeth to eat soft finger food. They gum it!! My first daughter did not get any teeth til 10 months and she had quite a little appetite for table food long before then!!!! We actually chew with our back teeth (molars) not our front teeth. So even if baby has 6 front teeth he/she won't be using them to chew, just bite. Just give small pieces that if they swallowed would not choke them.
And the most important thing is BALANCE! You don't need to feed only veggies for 3 months, (weird idea) just feed them to your baby first in each sitting, like before sweeter things. Also, I used to freak out if they didn't eat good for a day. Then I heard some advice from a pediatrician that said look at a baby/toddler's appetite over a week's time. If they have eaten a good, balanced diet over a wks time then they'll be fine..

My daughter really likes the Gerber puffs. They come in several flavors and they are easy to pick up and they melt in her mouth.
Those were the first finger foods that I gave her till she got the hang of actually getting them in her mouth, then we moved on to banana (which is hysterical to watch her try to pick up) and shredded cheese.
Well cooked veggies are good also.
I thought that the cheerios were a little hard and didn't dissolve as easily as the puffs, but that is my opinion.
She is now 9 months old and had banana pancake for the first time this morning.

Oh...you can start doing that right away. There's no reason not to start introducing some fun finger foods for her to test out. Diced canned peaches are also wonderful. As well as scrambled egg.
Go ahead and try some things out to see what she likes. Just keep it on the softer side until she starts cutting teeth. But, even then...you'd be surprised at the power of their little gums when they really like something!
Good Luck!

NOW. While they say not to give babies diary products, there is yogurt made by Oh Baby in the Organic sections of grocery stores...my daughter LOVED that stuff when she was that age. It didn't hurt her or give her any allergies at all and she gobbled that stuff up.
Toast should also be okay now. I started right around the age your daughter is..

Between 6 and 7 months I started giving my son cheerios... but he already had a few teeth by then. I would check out gerber graduates or Zweiback toast (its also good for teething) and you cangive yogurt now.... but you don't want to get the fatfree yogurt. There is one called YoBaby by Stonyfield... check that out, my son loves it. (btw he is almost 2 now.)

If she is interested and can put the food in her mouth, go for it... I think my daughter was about 5 months. Just watch her close to make sure she is doing okay with it and that she doesn't put too much food in her mouth.

I didn't give anything but babyfood until my daughter was about 10 months.
She should at least be able to sit up before you give her the toast. Milk products shouldn't be given until 12 months, unless it is formula.

She is in all likelihood not waiting yet. it extremely is wonderful. yet you may according to hazard attempt putting the nutrients on your plate, and ingesting (or pretending) and then offering her some. She could be extra involved contained in the nutrients if mommy is ingesting it too. additionally you do not could commence with ceral, according to hazard provide her enormous chunks of a few comfortable boiled apples, or some bananas (like genuine fruit, not the child nutrients)... Is she constantly putting stuff in her mouth? if so, she will in all likelihood like it extra if she will do it herself. If not, only carry off and attempt a lil later.

Whenever she can pick them up and put them in her mouth. She can so eat yogurt now. Yo Baby has just what babies her age need, especially being weaned. You can even give her nilla wafers and cheetos. Even cheerios. My babies loved them at that age. I would even smash up some nilla wafers and put them in yogurt and they loved it that way, filled them up longer too. Good luck. I love this age, it's so much fun. God Bless.

Yogurt, now, smashed soggy toast now too. Nothing she could get a chunk of and choke on though.
