We're thinking Oregon or Northern California - some of the most beautiful country in the world. I'd like a bit of land to grow my own food and keep chickens and such, but my beloved wants to be right near the sea. We've got a bit of time to sort out a compromise...

I used to live on one of the retirement coasts...People would buy a bungalow for when they couldn't manage the stairs, then forget that they might not always be able to drive, then the husband would die after a couple of years and the wife would be stranded in the middle of nowhere with no friends.
I wouldn't wish that on my wife. OTOH I am not sure I want to stay where I am.

To a futurist type vehicle that drives on land, is live-able like a camper, and can travel through the air and up into space.
That way I can get to where I want whenever, as quickly and as often as possible.
Look out world and beyond!
Okay then if not possible I'll settle for a camper, and travel to as many places as possible.
