Can you suggest a good theme regarding COMMUNICATIONS? I need it for the upcoming Literary Musical in School

Look back at the story of the tower of Babel in the Bible where God confused their language and they were no longer able to build the tower because they couldn't communicate.
What would happen in today's world if, all of a sudden, people couldn't understand one another?
I don't know if it fits, but if it's for a musical, everyone could sing or play a different tune to demonstrate the need for "harmony" in communication as well as in music.

I like songbird's suggestion about using the Tower of Babel as a theme but she is a little in error. Before the Tower of Babel there was only 1 language in the entire world. To limit man's ability regarding technology, so that our ability to harm ourselves and each other, God caused people to have different languages so that we couldn't understand each other.

We are still in that situation. Not only do different countries have different languages but each one of us has a little different language than other people in our country too.

What I mean is that to each of us many words have a little different meaning than to other people. That is one reason that we have misunderstandings. Many words have more than 1 meaning and we may not know the meaning of the person talking.

There is also an emotional loading that many words carry, that may be different for different people.

I hope something I have said has been helpful. Interpersonal comunications is a big interest of mine.
