If I take in pants (dress pants and jeans) to get hemmed, do I have to measure them before I go and mark off where they need to be hemmed or will they get me to put them on and do it when I get there?

I always take along another pair of pants that hang to where I want them to, and have the seamstress use them as a guide.

convinced you should because some fabrics shrink in the course of the showering procedure. you receives a significantly better hem in the journey that they are washed first. in case you wait until eventually after to bathe them they could nicely be shorter than you want be particular to convey footwear that you will be wearing alongside with you for a significantly better in good structure all round

You can do either. And, often times, they will accept you pinning one leg to the desired length and they will work with that to hem the other leg.

When you get there they will measure them for you. That way they know it is the perfect length for you.

A true tailor will want to do it him/herself.
