....Ok I'm flattered with that....but the thing is that guys think that I'm not fun at all and somehow they expect to be like that a really good girl....

What kind of guys want to marry someone they can't have fun with? Seems weird. You should be flattered anyway.

I had guys tell me that when I was younger and I was totally perplexed by it. I think I get it now. Maybe lol..

It came up a few times in the context of messing around sexually and casually. I heard "I can't just mess around with you, you're the kind of girl that would make a great wife". At the time I saw it as some kind of rejection but now I see that guys stereotype women into "chicks you mess around with" and "chicks you marry". My husband showed me that this is just something out of respect. It has nothing to do with you being fun or not, I was always having fun with guys that said this. It was out of respect for me and the fact that I seemed like a really good person. Perhaps some kind of respect for my future. What the guy is saying is "you're not a whore" and who can't find that flattering?? Not all guys are this respectful, I met a few of them too.....

I think you should go ahead and be flattered :)

Yes, I would be flattered, but don't look that far into it. Every woman has a bit of good and bad in us, it depends on how we feel that day. I would be flattered and just take what he said as just that, words. Action speaks louder than words. When he starts TREATING you like you're marriage material, then you pay attention to what he says =) Good luck!

I'd say that if guys are trying to pigeon hole you as this or that, especially this day in age...then maybe you should find more open minded people to hang with.
I'm everything, I'm great to hang with as one of the guys, I can hang out with the girls, I made a great wife, I can cook, I can drink, I love to laugh and have a great time. There is no reason you can't be everything you aspire to be...so someone thinking that because you'd make a great wife means that you aren't a fun person to hang with, is only stifling you as an individual. And if this is just the way you are thinking then you are only stifling yourself.

I would be flattered too, but I would also tell them that isn't all your good for. Show them!

No, for exactly the reasons you mentioned. A guy who sees me as marriage material means he thinks I am a good fit to fill the shoes of his mother........cook, maid, baby maker, etc. No thank you.

You should be flattered...don't allow others to steal your joy...you can be fun and sexy without sleeping with everyone...Stick to your standards which must be high... and you will have it all....
