Ok, i was in Science today, and I wrote 'Nath is gay' on this guy Nath's ruler, just joking. I'm not kidding, he went absolutely mental. He started completely yelling at me saying 'F*** off! F*** off' and stuff like that, and stood up, took his stuff and moved seats, and didn't even walk near me for the rest of the lesson. Naturally, I was just in shock and just sat there like '...sorry...'. Literally his reaction was so bad the whole class was just sat there with their mouths open. Now I don't really see what I did wrong, maybe I shouldn't have done it, but the reaction was a little OTT, since people make lame jokes like that all the time. (and i know being gay isnt funny) Obviously I hit some sort of sore spot for him, so do you think I should apologize again, or just leave him?

Its just the thing is, he does it to other people all the time, but he cant take it if someone does it to him!

Let him cool off . . . .
Odds are . . . . there are three possibilities with this . . .
1) He is in the closet, and he does this to other people to deflect it so people won't know.
2) He is a homophobes, and he ridicules others he suspect are, whether they are or not.
3) He is straight, but everyone teases him and he couldn't handle it, but he also tease other kids so they won't tease him.

I don't think that was a sore spot for him. Maybe he gets teased like that all the time and he is just frustrated and sick of it.
Why did you write what you wrote? There is a difference between teasing and hurtful words.
You owe him an apology. Buy him a new ruler and attach a note saying that what you did was insensitive.

Yes, apologize. Tell him you only wrote what you did in good fun. Say you should have recognized that it could possibly be offensive, and that you are very sorry you didn't think about how it might've made him feel.
Did you ever think that maybe he actually is gay... and afraid to come out of the closet? It could be why he had such a strong reaction...

You should not onoly apologize to him but to the whole class. Maybe young people just think it is fun to pull pranks and bully others with such crap, but it is very hurtful. He does it? Then he should get up and say he appreciates your apology and he apologizes if he has done similar things in the past.
If you do this, you will show that you are head and shoulders above others in class, maturity and character.

As male i want to say some thing to that some people hate joke specially in love because this action degrade the male and there is hundred of question rise .so meet him and say that i am sorry and next time i will be careful in your case if there is friendship between u peoples then say that our friendship is not too weak that small things inter fare between us if there is love case then tell him that i love you deep from the ocean but remember one thing dont meet him in the party try to meet with him where no one can interfare you .Best Luck

Are you even dating him to leave him? Buy him a new ruler and if he is still uptight about it maybe he is. If he doens't let it go, stay away.

It was a stupid, childish thing to do. When you do stupid, childish things you apologize. He should apologize as well.
Unless he's you boyfriend you can't "leave" him.
