Okay so last week I noticed some spotting. It wasn't because of sex, I didn't have sex the day before I noticed spotting. I called my OB and she said it was ok, just my cervix thinning perhaps. This morning I also noticed some pink spotting. I haven't had any contractions yet. I have noticed a little mucus, but it's not blood tinged. (Kinda resembles snot) Will this mean my baby could come any time??

OH and people keep telling me I'm not going to have a big baby, because my stomach isn't that big. However I have gained 40 lbs and my stomach measures accordingly.(37 weeks)

It sounds like you're bloody show. You have passed your mucus plug. I had the same thing happen with the pink spotting. What it basicly means is that you're going to have the baby soon. But it doesn't mean within the next couple of days. It could be within the next two weeks. Do you have your bag ready to take to the hospital? Baby's coming!
I gained 75 pounds for my first baby. She weighed 7lb 6oz. I gained about 40 for my second, he was 8lb 6oz. I measured accurately both times. No one warned me that my second one would be bigger. The doctor can estimate how big the baby will be with an ultrasound. But i've heard of times where the doctor is off by 3 pounds!
Good luck!

First off weight gain and baby size meen nothing. I gained 27 pounds with my first and he was 8 pounds, gained only 16 with my second and he was 10 pounds!

You are probably starting to lose the mucus plug, but that does not mean labor is coming on anytime soon as your body can regenerate the plug. I am sure by now you are on weekly OB visits, let them know about the mucus and also remember it can take a day or two after sex or after a pelvic for you to get the pink tinge.

I wish you the best! Good news is you are where they consider full term so if it does happen you are good to go!

No need to worry. Your cervix is getting softer and opening up, and you are losing your mucus plug. Your body is getting ready for labor. If this is your first baby, you may still carry him for another 2-3 weeks. But there is the possibility that you will deliver very soon. Call your doc as soon as you start feeling contractions, or seeing a great deal of bright red or pink blood. Congrats!

Mucous Plug - not spotting. If you were seeing bright red, I would say run to the ER and call Dr from there.

You can lose the mucous plug several weeks to several days before you go into labor

Also - no one can tell how big your baby is by how much weight you've gained or how big you look. People should keep opinions to themselves I think! My 2nd daughter weighed 9 lbs 11oz and I only gained 35 lbs and was 42 weeks (of course, it was mid July and HOT and I was UNCOMFORTABLE) when I had her.

Best Wishes!!!

The "snot" is most likely the mucous plug. It doesn't necessarily have to be tinged pink/brown/red. It can be clear, and is usually clear for a lot of women. You can loose your MP as early as 3 weeks before you go into labor, so don't break out the bubbly quite yet, it could be another 3 weeks or so.

Good luck, sweetie! And congrats!

Dehydration and malnutrition alongside with extreme and espresso blood tension will try this. Drink a lot of water consume healthful and usually and decelerate a touch ggod which you're nevertheless in college besides the indisputable fact that it extremely is in all likelihood time to take day off you're finished term now pass residing house and relax for the subsequent 3 weeks. You deserve the ruin and its not well worth fainting or going into labour in college. Pre-eclampsia answer is suited besides get appeared at considered necessary.

It sounds like your body is just getting ready for labor. They say you can loose your mucus plug a couple of weeks before labor. Good luck and congrats.

Also, I've had 3 children and I never had anything like that, no extra discharge and none tinged with blood. But they say that most do.

Sounds like you're my twin from afar !

I am 37 weeks and have the exact same thing happening to me. Wierd huh?

Anyway my doc told me the same thing so wait and have him/her check you at your next appt. That what I am going to do. I have gained the same amount of weight but everyone says I am small too.

Good luck :)

BTW - I gave birth to a 7.8 lbs baby and everyone said she was going to be 6lbs b/c I was so small so dont worry.

I woudl guess that the snotty stuff might be your moucus plug...mine wasn't bloody. But that doesn't mean anything is going to happen too soon. I lost mine about 2 weeks before I delivered. And if you are worried about the spotting call and ask questions...that's what the doctor's are for and that's what you are paying them for! I would much rather ask and be told that it's nothing than sit and worry about it.
