My son is signed up to start acting classes with Mari Ferguson in Houston in November. Does anyone know of her or have any input on her coaching abilities or success? Also, just wondering if anyone can recommend a credible agent in Houston, TX for my son who is a beginner and is begging me to get him an agent? I know he is not ready yet, but will be soon and I am curious of any recommendations.

Well, I do not have any experience with her personally. I looked her up and she does seem to have a few discrepancies on her website resume as opposed to what her official imdb has http://imdb.com/name/nm2494953/ That doesn't mean that what she says isn't true since I know that imdb doesn't always have everything listed, let alone correctly but sometimes people claim to have been in something when really they were just an extra. That doesn't mean she's not a great teacher so why not let your son take the classes and see how he feels about it and how much progress you think he's making after a month or two.

I think what the coach did was wrong. He went too far in making the kid give back his equipment during practice and basically kicking the kid off the team just because he was walking. The poor kid was only 10 years old. I didn't think football was so competative at this age. But, it's not like he was wearing tighty-whiteys. The kid had on a long t-shirt and boxer shorts. Yes it was wrong and the coach should get a warning/probation, but I think some people are making this into a bigger deal then it is.

She is a Horrible coach. I think I lost some of my acting intelligence while working with her, so instead I went to BlueLeaf Productions.

She's great! Has a ton of working actor clients, and is unbelievably passionate about what she does!

Marianne is talking about agencies, I posted on your other question. By the way, as an agency i would chose Pastrosbi Bosby.
