am going to wash that man right out of my hair." 2x
South Pacific... Oh, it really is a most romantic musical i saw as a teen. The star, an American Nurse falls for a widower with kids.... The song is a reminder that we do not wash an unhappy relationship out of our hair. No it gets worse. Women who up until then have beautiful long hair grab the scissors and cut off all their assets.
How I know???? What about my 2 divorces. Every Time somewhere during the break up I decide to ´Cut that man right out of my hair.´ I act upon an impulse for renewal I guess. I have always known this about myself, and I must admit I admired Sinead o´Connor very much for her shaved head, which made her look vulnerable, but above all like a Fairy.
Did you know, that when we´re ready for someone new, most of us change our natural hair color and dye it red.

It all depends on what he's done. Sometimes you can take all sorts of cr@p from a bloke for years, then all of a sudden he does something that totally blows you out of the water and makes you see him for what he really is for the very first time. There's a lot of pain involved, and a lot of soul searching, but you know in your heart of hearts that you're not going back there ever again.

I'm thinking the metaphor is to wash the memory of him from your mind, giving you the strength to live without him.

I could be wrong though . . a lot of women have told me they can't go out with me cause they have to wash their hair.

Yes...I had one of the annoying little critters in my hair this morning...he was all tangled up and making a nuisance out of himself. I just hopped in the shower and watched him swirl down the drain....that'll teach him.

I wouldn't say so, you might let him go but he'll always be in your heart somewhere, not a shampoo strong enough to sort that out.
