His walk in the third ODI against England.
I have heard batsmen walking(rare nowadays) before the verdict by the umpire.
But Sangakkara walked even before an appeal was made.In fact the WK and bowler realised it was a catch only after HE started walking and appealed.
Is it not extraordinary?

To have suffered some hard decisions may justify others who do not walk, but to walk is noble and gentlemanly and such acts need recognition and appreciation.

To be quite honest, i will say it's not a very wise decision.

Yes it shows that he is a good sportsman but what is the need to be so damn nice.

I ask you a question? How many times the umpires ask a batsman to come back after they realise that they have made a wrong decision & how many times the fielding team asks a batsman to come back when they realise that he was a victim of wrong umpiring?
The answer is 'ZERO'

There is no need to show such foolish sportsmanship, leave it on to the umpire. If he gives you out, then leave the field & if he doesn't give you out then there is no need to run to the dressing room.

That act looks nice but is actually 'foolish'.

Sachin,Lara & Ponting are wise people & they have never done such a thing.
I think Sangakara hasn't suffered much wrong decisions in his career, that's why he did it. When he will get out 15-20 times through wrong decisions in future, i am sure he will stop doing it.

That was something extraordinary of him, i like that.

I think his decision was right, though we win the match or not, we should do the right thing what we feel to do, we should not try to win a match in an illegal way by going aginst the rules.

What he did was a good example for other players too, if we feel that it's out then we should not wait untill the umpire raises the fingers, we have to just keep on moving & thats what this guy did.

Sign of a real gentelmen.

It is good to see such sportsmanship on the field. Perhaps such actions would inspire other cricketers to follow.

But, if such an action compromises the teams' position then it would be difficult to justify such an act.

He could have gone even before the umpire raises his finger , but it should only have been next to the appeal by the opposition team players.Unless they appeal , there is no need to go out so hastily.....

He deserved it & needs to get out of the Sri Lankan Cricket team & give other new batsman chances. Kumar Sangakkara is nobody & a disgrace to be a S.L batsman, I mean his not hitting shots so therefore, if he was hitting shots & not wasting balls he probably would not here the umpire's decision. Kumar, Upul, Sanath & Chamara Silva needs to get out & Nuwan Kulasekara.

If a batsman is convinced that he is out, his walking away before the umpire declares him out is considered as a true gentlemanship and sportsman spirit, which is rarely seen inat present.
