Yes. I ran. I fought. I bargained.
These days, I'm old and tired. The next time, I will probably give it up willingly.

First decide if this person presents a serious threat that you need to pay attention to. If you decide they are not actually capable or this (or never intended for you to take them seriously) then I wouldn't report it. But if there is any true doubt that you are in danger from this person then go to the police.
You always want to think twice about reporting things to the police. Its like this...If you hand a potter a hunk of clay they are going to make pottery out of it. If you hand a child crayons he will draw a picture. If you hand someones name and address over to a policeman he will try to make that information into something he deals with which means he will try to open a case and the circumstances may lead to a dead wrong conclusion and still affect many lives before he is done. That's why people justifiably don't trust the police and the courts. They hurt as often as they help.
I personally am very grateful we have police officers and the court system even with all its many flaws... but that said I still don't run to them with everything and anything, They are like fire extinguishers, only use them when you have to because they can really make a quite mess of things just doing what you ask them to do..

When i was younger, I was told that I was going to have my face mashed in with a baseball bat by rough neck armenians. I stayed away from the park for about a year, and taught myself in the mean time how to play chess, how to juggle, and how to throw a wicked right hook.
If you have this sort of problem, your body is your first line of defense. Fear is a great motivator, and it will keep you on your toes. If you really think someone is out to get you, change your patterns. Walk to a different subway station, leave for work earlier, keep your eyes peeled, because what you really don't want is to get caught off guard.
If you are your enemies equal, stand and fight. If you are less, run. Those are the paraphrased words of Sun Tsu, author of the Art of War. At times a difficult read, but is useful in that it gives insight into how to tackle problems, not just having to do with war or fighting. I read it, ran with it, and now I have a stable platform from with which to fight my fears and my battles.

As a former pizza delivery geek, I was once robbed at gun point when delivering to a hotel. It is true what they say about the muzzle of the gun looking huge when it's pointed at you. I gave him the pizzas and my change bag. If he'd asked for it, I would have given him my car too.
Then I went to the hotel office and called the police. The moron was still in his room when they knocked on the door.
My idiot boss actually had the nerve to yell at me in front of the police. Saying that I should have put up a fight before handing over HIS money. The police officer promptly ate him a new rear end.

Not me personally but some patrons in a bar I was working , told them if they won the pool game that they would blow their heads off , I ever so quietly called the police , seemed like before I hung up the phone there were 10 cops in the bar , Thank God for the Colonie New York police force , guys are awesome . Turns out the guys weren't packing so they arrested them for assault and hauled their butts to jail...

Yep, many years ago. An ex's crack hoe "thing". She literally was a crack hoe. She didn't tell me, she told my father on the phone. She said that if I didn't stay out of a certain town that she'd cut my body up into little pieces and scatter the parts over 3 counties. (all this because my ex was literally stalking me.)I didn' t have to do or say anything. He told her that she didn't know what family she was f*ckin with and if one hair on my head was touched, not even God could keep him and my family from hunting her down and putting a bullet in her head and burying her body where no one would find her. He told her, if she didn't believe him that all she had to do was ask around town, everyone would tell her about my family and how they do what they say. lol. I never heard from the b*tch again. lmao!

yes,, he was drunk in a moving car ...would kicked his butt,
but the officer said it would make his job easier if i refrained from talking to the man,,,boy if i coulda been like Cher and turned back time,, i would've found a way,, to get past the cop and did as much damage to him as he did to my family. I would have thought that would be considered,, attempted vehicle assault but what do I know?? I know he got away with 60 days loss of license,, a year probation a 1,000 dollar fine and ARC manor .. seems the only ones that got satisfaction from what he did was the state . guess what really pees me off is he was heard making the comment that he was so drunk,,and my husband was faking . he had broken neck,,multiple rib fractures, collapsed lung broke pelvis .
now what did I do about it,, stood there and took it up the .......... and do what i always do when someone asks me about it,,,,b***h and gripe and tell my story,,but they really don't care,,

Plenty of times. Most recent was a drunk I threw out of a bar for slapping a lady. He was luck because I actually had to protect him from the others in the place that wanted to skin his hide.
