Baseball started on the east coast.
ESPN is in Connecticut.
The Yankees have won 26 World Championships.
The Red Sox have won 6 World Championships.
Arizona has won 1 World Championship
Colorado has never been to the World Series.
Why is it so hard for people to understand this?

Hey, most of us on the east coast, (in american league cities), haven't seen either team. I believe that Mike and Mike were saying that in the "National Landscape", the Red Sox/Indians series has the "stars" and the Rockies/Diamondbacks series doesn't have as much. Funny thing is, has Arizona even sold-out Game 1 yet? If people in Arizona don't care, neither will anyone else. Now when the series moves to Colorado, expect more coverage as the Denver area is caught up in Rockies fever.
Plus it's not gonna help that the NLCS is on TBS. While the ALCS is on Fox!

I am an Indians fan. I believe the only reason that they say that is because, Boston is still in. No one cares that the Rockies are on hot streak or that the NLCS is basically an NL west title series. No one cares that the Indians knocked out one of the media's favorites to win the World Series. The only thing that matters is that the Red Sox are still in.
In the media's eyes, the Indians, Rockies, and D-Backs weren't even supposed to be in the playoffs, let alone the Championship series'. They wanted the Braves, Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, Dodgers, Cardinals, and the A's.
I hope the tribe shuts every single critic up and upsets Boston. Maybe then, they get the respect they deserve.

An ex-jock and a no-talent talker....but that has been the direction of ESPN for too many years. The great Tony Bruno was dumped from the morning radio program in favor of Mike Greenberg because Bruno actually stood up to the off-mike bullying of the mediocre Mike Golic, and the suits went with the journeyman lineman, which is typical of the corporate decisions. Neither has any credibility and - on the radio side - the only talker with class and professionalism, Dan Patrick, left for another gig.

I don't think they are saying the west coast series doesn't matter, I think they are trying to say that more people will be watching the Cleveland & Boston series & that the only reason less people will be watching is because they are both from small market baseball cities even though i think Colorado is going to win the World Series. Remember when the Astros played the White Sox a few years ago, the ratings weren't very good. I watch the series no matter who is there because I love baseball that much.

I see the same bias on YA all the time, particularly when it comes to NL teams. I don't know for how long I've seen people on here say the NL West is a weak division...weak??? Having four teams all racing for the Division Title or Wildcard all year really makes you a weak division doesn't it? The D-Backs, Padres, Rockies, and Dodgers are all good teams. But you don't hear anyone criticize the NL West anymore, unless they have no baseball knowledge at all. By the way, learn how to spell.

well its not fair for the east coast to wait til 10:20 to watch a playoff game. when was the last time 2 west coast teams hosted a NLCS. since 1969 a team from the Central Time Zone & Eastern Time Zone always faced off against one another. its a shame cuz i'm sure we would see a tremendous series, maybe even better then Sox x Tribe

Mike & Mike in the morning don't matter, so don't worry about it. Their job is to be loud and talk about the NFL. They just don't know much about anything else.
It's going to be a fun series. It won't do near the rating of the Red Sox-Indians, but that's just life. Enjoy the games!

In reality, coast aside, the Sox Indian game I think is going to be more exciting to watch than the Rockie Dback game, and I'm on the West coast. I am pulling for the Rockies but reality says that the American league is going to be the WS champs.

it's true, no one on the east coast cares about the diamondbacks or rockies, they are not east coast bias. People will still watch but not as many as if you had the Phils or the Cubbies playing. I dont remember them saying it didnt matter, i think they were saying how they cant even sell out the game in Arizona
