I used to believe that living forever would be the best thing in the world and used many birthday wishes blowing out candles, hoping that me and my family would live forever.....that's just not how life works though and our existence would be very different if we did live forever. Knowing that we are mortal makes us want to live a meaningful life - something we likely wouldn't be as inclined to do if we were immortal.

That everything has a happy ending. When you're young and innocent, that is how the world is portrayed through fairy tales. also, people try to keep unhappy things away from you. As you get older, you find out not everything has a happy ending.

Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Boogeyman... Hmm, can't think of anything else. I never believed in the Easter Bunny, is that weird?

When i was a child i believed i would live for ever, you become more aware of you're mortality as you get older. I also believed as a child that i was safe where ever i was, again as a adult you become aware of all the dangers around you......especially in today's society x x
