I have a guy friend that I'm in love with. I know he really likes me but we live in different states. We stay in contact but I would love to know if I can influence him in any way to make him feel for me the way I feel for him. Any ideas would really help me. I cannot stop thinking of him. We got together once but now we just chat ...like friends. I invited him to visit..he said he will but that the prob is that its difficult to get me there...and that's true as I'm usually travelling. I dont want to be pushy, Im not the type. I feel he would be more proactive if he were in a position to date seriously. He's studying heavily. Can a long term good friend become a lover one day? Or am I living in dreamland? We havnt discussed our feelings and I cant bring myself to bring this up.

It is possible for long time friends to suddenly see each other in a new light and realize that they have grown to love each other. It can be a very special love, deeply seated because you already know each other so well. There are no surprises so you are already aware of each others faults and good points. It can be a very satisfying, long relationship.

On the other hand there will never have the excitement that the "love at first sight" relationship will bring. There will be no memory of all the firsts that people desperately in love feel, finding out little things about each other, the mystery of anticipating that first kiss, finding out about each others family.

You should tell your friend how you feel just to see if he is thinking at all along the same line you are. Could be his greatest desire in life is waiting for that dramatic, love at first sight moment and only thinking of you as a friend. Could be that if you tell him what you are feeling he will suddenly look at you in a new light. What ever his response it is better that you find out now and not let your hopes or expectations get too out of control

Good luck with your relationship.

Yes a good friend can become a lover one day. You are not living in dreamland. Read "Men Are From Mars Women Are From Venus". Go slow on the conversation front as you may scare him away from the friendship at this point. Visualize your visit with him first. Then just talk about a visit without the heavy duty topic of love. Remember love is patient and kind. When the visit happens look as hot as you have ever been before. Buy clothes if necessary to get the new hot look that will get you on his radar.Good luck.

He could. And you could win the lottery, too, theoretically. Bring it up. Tell him how you feel. If you don't, he'll think YOU are not interested. If you wait, maybe it will happen and maybe it won't, but think of this: there is nothing preventing some other proactive girl coming along and staking a claim while you're sitting around in Maybeland.

Continue the friendship...you mentioned that he is studying heavily...let him graduate first and then pursue a relationship possibly...right now his priorities are on school and not having a girlfriend...I think the best relationships are the ones that start out as good friends first :)

I think that this is a fantasy. You do not really even know each other.

Maintain the friendship. You never know what the future will hold.

Try to spend sometime together. This will really tell if you have real feelings for him.

Good Luck!
