Dude I have had nightmares of him since I was 4 and its 10 years later and he is still there!! Why would McDonald's want to scare us so badly???

Understandable. Most people think he's a clown. Not actually true. The bright red hair indicates that he's Irish. He ate some raw meat (spreading the red blood around his mouth) and contracted Mad Cow disease from that meat(producing the pale coloration on his face). I wouldn't trust him either.
On a side note, have you ever noticed that if you go more than a couple of months between eating McD's hamburgers, you always get sick after you eat one?

Well, I'm sure he's not a violent clown, now is he? How old are you? When I was a kid, I used to be scared of clowns because they..well...looked scary. It'll pass, don't worry.
