First, let me say this is a serious question and I would like serious answers only please, I apologize a head of time, if I give to much detail, I am just trying to explain my q, the best I can. I dont know which day I would consider the first day of my period, on Sept 5th, I got light brown/pink spotting, however I only noticed this when I would wipe. This last 2 days, then on the 7th, I got a regular flow, that turns red, where I tampon was needed. My period is like this every month, I always get the light brown/pink spotting, when I a wipe for 2 days before getting a flow. I have heard you people say your first day is the very first day you notice blood, so would my first day be when it was the brown/pink stuff or would it be the day the flow actually started? I want to try to figure this out, b/c my hubby & I have been trying for over a yr & 1/2 to get pregnant and finally have become pregnant, but I dont know which date to give the doctor for when my last period was!

i say the first day you "bleed" spotting doesn't count in my opinion. but also, two days really isn't going to make THAT much of a difference in determining fetal age and due date. so i would go with the 7th, not the 5th.

notwithstanding you weren't pregnant for the time of your very last era, that cycle nevertheless "counts" by using the 40 week approach. So, calculate 40 weeks from the first day of your very last era, and that is at the same time as your toddler will be due. To me it can make more desirable experience to calculate 38 weeks from that date, because which could journey the gestational age. notwithstanding, each and each and every of the files obtainable is depending on the 40 week approach. it truly is puzzling & would not make a large number of expertise -- welcome to motherhood!!!

Since due dates are almost always a guess anyway, and babies come when they want to, pick the middle. You'll only be a day or two off whatever day you give your doctor.
