Where department would it be in in the grocery store??

Grocery store, hardware , Wal-mart. Go to one of the clerks and ask them to show you where it is. There are two different types. One is in a tube like shape and the other is made of cotton and folds. Look at the picture and get the cotton that folds. I used both and did not like the tube shaped one at all. With the tube you cannot just drop it into what you are using to strain things and you have to tie a knot at the end to keep things from falling out. Hope this helps and will save you money in a long run.

I would think any paint supply store, as painters sometimes strain their paint through cheesecloth before painting a wall, etc.

In the kitchen gadget section of your grocery store or mass merchandise store (near the can openers etc). Or at a store that specializes in kitchen supplies.

I got mine in the notions section at Jo-Ann fabrics. It's in a blue plastic wrapper.
