I'm supposed to do a project on illnesses that are a result of war in WWII. I'm have alot fo trouble getting information. I'm doing physical and mental illnesses. Does anyone know of a good source for this information? I'm not asking you to do this for me, I only want info.

1. mental/psych illnesses- post traumatic stress disorder, brief reactive psychosis, dillusions of grandeur

2. physical- malnutrition (kwashiorkor, marasmus), gangrene, broken bones, poisoning (chemical and biological), burns, trauma, ofcourse my favorite GSW-gun shot wound (lol never heard of cannon shot wound )and lots of death

Yes, Veterans Affairs sounds like a good place to start.

In addition to radiation sickness and cancer as a result of the H-Bomb that the previous poster mentioned, a lot of soldiers suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after the war.

I would check with the VA. I'm sure there are also a myriad of studies out there on radiation sickness and cancer increases at bot Hiroshima and Nagisaki.

Applies generally to all wars - post traumatic stress disorder, though I'm not sure if it was diagnosed as such at the time.
