Yes I can. Not something that I am necessarily proud of. But NO ONE sees through it.
Well maybe someone, but he is just as bad as I am. We see through each other.

I have been told I am an expert at the art of BS, and it's mostly true. The one time I was called out on it I was BSing my way through a herpetology degree, when a couple of students asked me where they could go "herpin" (looking for reptiles) I had never heard the term before, and I told them that. I was busted, they laughed but said I knew most of what I was talkin about.

Yes, I can bs my way through almost any conversation, and can talk to anyone about anything. There are two people who can see through my bs though, and they are quick to call it out!!

So your point of this is to say what exactly? Genetic ancestry is meaningless without the culture, customs and traditions associated with them. This is part of identity. This is also how we honor the legacy of our ancestor. The position you start out in and the environment you thrive in is the direct result of the legacy of someones ancestors. The fact one day we will all become ancestors. So from the perspective of an ancestor what legacy shall you pass on to those in the future? Legacy is what really matters. As far as ancestral purity goes I can tell you that as a Black man I have white ancestors. However when a white people sees me they don't see themselves in me. However when a Black people see me they definitely see themselves. Therefore whatever white ancestry I have is irrelevant for the purposes of identity. Also my white ancestors never made a conscious effort in making themselves known or having an active role in the lives of the children they sired with my Black ancestors. So even though they are a branch in the pathway to my existence they are not a relevant part of my identity. This is why heritage and tradition associated with identity are as important if not more important than biology and genetics..

I am a pretty good BS, but I learned never to try it with my Mom and Dad, they always seem to find out the truth, or just have that second instinct.

I try to BS, but I'm not a good one. Somebody always sees right through it. I'm too honest I guess.

Anyone can bs their way through anything but it is better to be smart enough to know what to say when to say and where to say it.
