There are two reasons. First of all, a properly sharpened blade is bettr balanced. An unbalanced blade will cause the mower to shudder, and may loosen adjusting screws, etc, in the mower's moving parts.

Second, a sharp blade will cut the grass cleanly. A sharp blade also goes through thick grass more efficiently. Your lawn will look more manicured with a sharp blade. A dull blade tends to push grass over, without properly cutting it, and your lawn will look uneven.

After mowing with dull blades it makes the grass appear brownish and it will take longer to recuperate and will also use more water.

Sharp blades on a mower will make the lawn look much greener and will require less water to recuperate.

Remember to change your lawn mower oil and spark plug at least once a year.

Lift the lawn mower blade up one notch in the middle of summer, this will keep the lawn greener and prevents that brownish look after mowing.

Do NOT overfill gas containers, this helps in gas spillage and keeps the environment clean.

to objective for the sharpness of the blades on cylinder mowers, insert an internet site of a on a daily basis newspaper and swap the blades by utilising hand, try this for each blade and you will locate out which factors of the blades choose sharpening,or which area of the soleplate is out of authentic ,injury to blades and soleplate are normally led to by utilising attempting to decrease thick twigs or stones being picked up by utilising the soleplate.if the paper has a intense-high quality sparkling scissor like decrease then the blades do no longer choose sharpening, many times i hit upon that the soleplate gets knocked out of authentic or somewhat bent ,and a rapid faucet with a hammer interior the final spot normally straightens it out lower back and lower back onto sparkling reducing of the grass

You may want to consider a "push mower" for such a small area. Good exercise and much easier to maintain than a gasoline engine. Here's pretty much most of the maintenance required of a push mower:

It's important to keep blades sharp because then they slice the grass instead of tear it, setting it up for various and sundry
diseases. making it look uneven, and making the edges brown.
It's also easier on the mower (powered or push) and on the
person.

You may be better off to hire it done. It could actually be cheaper than investing in a mower. Otherwise, blades must be sharp in order to do a good job and have the grass cut at the same height.

less effort to cut, if the blades are dull it misses more blades of grass, when they are sharp the work is easier on you
