I have hard time dealing with a 4 year old boy. To understand this boy, his parents are not together. The mother is with another man. Later on, the 4yr old boy told me that the boyfriend of her mom was gone for a compitation in far country. Who knows if today is the story and tomorrow will be another story. This child is just frustrated and angry for the family situation.

Just be very kind, patient and understanding. If you treat this young man with these attributes in the long run it will help.

He is FOUR. At that age they do not have a grasp of the difference between fantasy and reality. When they tell stories that is exactly what they are doing---telling a story, not lying. And generally children who can be described as "hyper" have extremely vivid imaginations that jump all over the place.

Give him lots of paper and crayons and washable markers and have him draw you pictures of how he feels and what he sees. You will be amazed at what he comes up with.

It's been years since I had to deal with my 4 year old but I always took him to the park and let him run both of us into the ground, then he would take a nice long nap.Good luck.

Dont give him anything sweet ( ie cookies, candy ect ect). Take him to a park and let him run, run, run. Give him a warm bath ( make sure to wash his hair ) put him a a clean cool bed with cartoons or and he'll be asleep in 30min tops
