no, the lot size is simply the dimensions of the property, normally width by length. Using your dimensions, the lot would be 125 feet accross and 180 feet deep.

Almost all homes list a finished and unfinished square footage. The finished may include the basement if it is complete. If not, look for the information if there is an unfinished basement.

The lot size generally has nothing to do with the size of the lot.

The square footage of a house is determined by multiplying the length of the house times the width. For example a house that was 60 feet long and 30 feet wide (60 X 30=1,800) would be 1,800 square feet.

In residential real estate only the finished, heated living space is calculated to determine the square footage. Unfinished basement or other unfinished areas including garages, are not included in that square feet.

The lot size is the size of the land that the house is on. The square footage of the home is completely different. You can figure out the lot size by multiplying 125 by 180= 22500. Divide that by 43560 (the square footage of an acre). 22500/ 43560= .516 or a little over half an acre.

I know that in Texas you can find out the square footage of the house from the tax appraisal records.

Not sure where you came up with that idea. The lot has nothing to do with the square footage of a structure on the lot. Just measure the exterior of the structure length x width. Remember if it has a stairway up or down it would have to be subtracted from one of the floors. Also GLA (gross living area) is area above grade and basements are not counted as GLA. Remember sf is always measured from the exterior not the interior.

No, there is no direct correlation between lot size and the square footage of the house.

You determine the square footage of the house by measuring the space inside.
