Its a lot of hard work. Don't start unless you plan to work hard on it for years.
Go around town and talk to every banker, businessman, politician, and leader. Tell them how excited you are about the plans, how it will help the community. Ask for a contribution. If they are excited too, ask them to be on the Board of Directors. Get as many people as you can on the board. Set a goal of how much you need to raise to get it going and working for the first year. Then ask the board and all your friends to help you reach that goal. Try to get the public involved with fund raising events: road race, book sale, bake sale, etc. Try to get coverage in the newspaper. Get a web site. Publish a brochure. Speak to the Rotary Club.
