(2x-6)/21 divided by (5x-15)/21
=2(x-3)/21 x 21/5(x-3)
=2/5

uhh do you mean that the 21 is an exponent of 5x-15 did you try (2x-6)(5x-15) then distribute it.. 2x times 5x = 10x 2 (this 2 is on top of the x) its kinda hard to explain.. lol. and i don't really know the answer cause i don't get ur question sorry :|

I have never seen anyone use an asterisk to denote the symbol for division.

How ever this does not mean that it cannot be used.

You should have a "KEY" an "index" or some form of chart, that will tell you any and all of the uses of symbols. I would suggest you check there and be certain.

(Wiki says it is for a convolution of the two.)

so it's

fractions are multplied by multiplying the values above the line and below the line e.g. 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4 (1*1=1, 2*2=4)

so for you it's
(10x²-30x-30x+90)/441 =
(10x²-60x+90)/441 or written with a line

10x²-60x+90
-----------------
441
