have you had a depo shot bad experience?

i think this drug should be taken off the market. it screwed up my system completely even a year after taken..too many side effects..to the point that i am even anemic.. same with my friend.we both took it at the same time...it's a horrible, dangerous drug.

i too it last july.. never had a normal period since.. i have developed 3 cysts that my doc links to depo.. one of which bursted and sent me to the e.r. with agonizing screams. i take birth control pills now to try to re boot my system.. the bleeding has been alsmost constant for the last year.. the birth control pills do help slow the bleed... is a horrible drug.. no womas whould be given this drug..

I agree. I'm appalled its still being administered. So FEW women have good experiences on this shot and TOO many have serious health risks.

I was on it for four years and I'm so glad I'm off of it.

I took the shot twice, 3 years ago. I have probably had a handful of periods since then. I am really concerned about it and the meds they give you to start a period won't even work. I have a feeling this could really have an effect on whether or not I can have children in the future I am currently seeing a doctor.

i was on it for a year, and most people say they lost their periods all together, i hardly ever stopped bleeding, they were constantly giving me pills that are suppose to help, but it never did, i noticed if i drank alcohol it got worse. i hated it. it took me two years to get pregnant after i stopped it too.

while having the depo my periods stopped altogether which kinda freaks you out so there was constant need for pregnancy tests

i'm with puppylove, i bled for what seemed like ever. i think out of four months there was one week a month that i did not bleed. i didn't like and will not ever go back to using it again.
