i think it's better to stay home and rest for a day, because a common cold might lead to other complications, like the last time i had a cold and i didn't really bother about it, i don't know why but i started having a lot of phlegm in my throat, and breathing became difficult, then i went to see the doctor and he said that i have to quickly clear my lungs (meaning get rid of the phlegm) or else i might contract some lung illness, i think bronchitis, i don't know it's quite long ago. But i think what's important is that health cannot be bought from money, so you have to take good care of your health.

Personally I wouldn't stay home unless I had to work close to someone. I would try and keep my distance. Alot depends on the job. If the work can wait-stay home. If people are depending on you, you sometimes need to toughen up, but not if you might make others sick. In 30 years, I was off sick maybe 5 times.

I'm self-employed so I work from home anyway, but when I was working in an office I used to stay at home if I felt really ill. If it was just a slight sniffle I'd go in if I felt well enough.

No way, I hate being off work. Will onmly take time if really need to Been signed off ill for 3 weeks already got 1 more left! Cant wait to get back!!

At the most contagious first 3 or 4 days, yes I do. If I go to work and spread it to my pts they could die.
If I give it to my co workers, who will they give it to who could die.
It cost the system more in cost and lives to have me at work than off for those few days.

i rarely get colds but when i do i go out to work. its not contagious when the symptoms are showing anyway and its unlikely the doctor would write me a sick note just for a cold :(
