Yes i support the mother, what a truely sickening thing to do the lack of respect that people show is very sad indeed and is a poor reflection on society as a whole. anybody who can get a thrill out of this type of thing is very disturbed.
you will probably find that it is kids that have done this mindless act as they firmly believe they can do whatever they want and lets face it what punishment if any will they recieve. they should be dragged to that poor mothers haouse and be made to apologise then spend a full year making sure the cemetary is clean and litter free.

the police should already have cctv installed

I'm having trouble getting into your link...but from reading the other answers..it sounds quite appalling that a grave is desecrated.

I do support the mother regarding having CCTV put up in the cemetery.

One of my nephews died 11 years ago, and someone keeps desecrating his grave. It's sick and very upsetting. So my sympathy is definitely for the parents and families.

Yes I do support her. Who wouldnt? My sister in law lost her first baby due to the same condition (a hole in the heart) when she was only 6 days old. If she found her child's grave desecrated, she would obviously feel pain, anger, just like the mother in the article. They had to endure a child's death, there is no reason they should have to endure some sick punk's idea of a joke on top of the grief they are already feeling.

Absolutely. There is nothing more distressing than seeing a loved one's grave being damaged.

My Grandfather's grave is a flat stone inlaid in the ground, and we had a photo of him transposed onto porcelain for the corner. The council cutting the grass mowed over it and destroyed it twice, and we have never had so much as an apology - it's not the point though - it's the fact that these people have no respect for the dead and their families.

It's disgusting.

I absolutely support her !

If CCTV is not within budget right now, then I think they should increase law enforcement patrol in the area at minimum. I believe the article said there had been 20 incidents of graves being trashed since August, so they should really take this seriously.

It's probably kids - who don't appreciate the fullness of what they are doing.
Bring back the parkkeepers, the bus conductors, etc etc. I'd put up a reward offered for information, too. If enough noise is made, the culprits will realise that they have done wrong, and if they get found out, make the parents take responsibility.

Hell yes i support the mother. Its bad enough we have to watch out for our children in life to ensure they are safe, but to have to protect them after death is intolerable. CCTV camera's are no good when people use disguises to carry out these revolting deeds, so i suggest big bad dogs, a bite on the ar$e will be enough to keep these ghouls away from the graves of our loved ones x x

You may find this hard to believe as it is so sick but this is not unusual. In Bristol, a childrens graveyard was vandalised beyond belief. Those poor parents, the only thing left to remind the of their child and some sick individuals go and destroy it. Sadly, the police will do little about it.

This is where we need some vigilante justice. The government and police are useless at doing their jobs so I say hand the responsibility over to the general public. Signs to warn off vandals my ***. They need a few guys with metal bars waiting behind a wall.

I agree with Jack2007 - punishment should be keeping the cemetery in good order or the 'b's' should be made to join the French Foreign Legion - that would sort them out or better still - front line in Iraq!!
