Yes. The looks are what initially attract you to someone. If they are not appealing on the outside, shallow as it is to say, the odds are that you are not even going to strike up a conversation with them in the first place. I think as time goes on, and you get to know someone better, their physical appearance matters less, and the overall package is more important. But, doesn't it feel good to be with someone attractive? It is still important to maintain your looks even after you are in a longterm relationship. If we care about our appearance, it lets our significant other know that we care enough them to take care of ourself. So, now that I have gone off on a tangent...back to the original, simple question, yes, looks matter.

A little. Not as much as they used to. And anyone who says that looks have nothing to do with their relationship is lying. If some sweaty fat dude came up to me and asked me for a date Id say no even if he was a sweet person. There has to be SOME sort of physical attraction for a relationship to start and grow. Even if it's just a little attraction.

Look, many people have different opinions. But the majority of people say that looks don't matter, I am sorry to say are wrong. Of course its not all that matters, other things matter too, personality. But as always, looks indeed do matter: You want to be proud of who your with. Well, personality also count, because. well you dont want to be witha complete jerk, or a softie. So i'd say both matter the same.

It showed that you were clever enough to be able to find enough food.

Absolutely, looks are important. I don't, however, guage a person entirely upon that. Looks will get your foot in the door, but if you don't have a personality to back it up then it doesn't matter how attractive you are.

Physical appearance plays a role in my attraction. But only a small role. I look more at personality. I am attracted to people who make me laugh.
