Hi , I don't know for what reason you were banned. But as per the Japanese immigration rules if you are not the native of home country and if your entry is banned for a particular period then their is only one possibility of entering again i.e. if you get married to a Japanese citizen the also the person who you are getting married he has to officially inform the immigration officer for the same before getting married. In your case you husband can speak to top officials in US navy and get it sorted.

No actually you will not be able to enter the country on marital grounds. This is becuase this was done for major violation / breaking the law of the local land. Hence legally you will not be able to enter with the change in surname. How ever there are ways (loop holes) which you could make use of at your own risk

You could certainly try. But I would get a new passport. In some cases Japanese immigration hasnt quite caught up with the digital age and cross-referencing passports and files etc.

I personally know someone who was deported in 1995 and got a new passport and came back 2 years later.

However, having said that, I'm not sure I'd risk it.

You will have to seek legal advice.

Why were you banned? Being banned from and entire country musta been a serious offence.
