First of all they are mad with themselves because slipping and falling is against the normal practice of walking and people feel stupid when this happens - even if there's a perfectly logical reason for it to happen. It follows that although people who ask 'are you OK?' are being kind and sympathetic the question feeds into the upset caused by the fall. Of course people aren't OK if they fall! A better question might be 'Can I help you?' but then that brings into play all sorts of things to do with independence. You cant easily solve the dilemma - just be yourself in the situation.

As we all know..fifty percent of them thought your falling was funny. Thirty percent thought nothing at all and the remaining percentage was glad you fell. LOL

They are not mad at the person, they are mad at themselves. They are thinking, 'Why am sooooooooo stupd to fall! That's so embarassing!' So dun be upset because of that.

Yeh its the embarrassed factor,it makes it worse when asked if OK.Unless the person is seriously hurt I would just put my head down and walk past. Not for my sake but for theirs.

I've been thinking about that. I don't think it's so much mad as wishing nobody had seen it happen.
