I am a Filipina with Greek, French, Spanish, British and Indian mixes. I love south africa's cereal and red wine. I love korea's entertainment. India is so exotic! Medjugorie's for devout Catholics like me. I couldn't count the times someone asked me if i would endorse this watevr... But most filipinos think USA is the best place on earth. HOLYWOOD's almost swallowed the world's film industry. they should see Bollywood and movies from my beloved france. Most books are published in there. But on judgement day, they're going to suffer a lot and Australia will lead the world to peace. They're also the world's top energy users. They are sooo materialistic.
they can't bring that to Heaven. And to the americans who would read this, I'm not counting all of you. Just most of you.
Sorry if i hurt your feelings but i mean it

Yes, unconsciously, they swear the world is their playground. In addition, they're convinced the rest of the world wants to be like them, even if its something as distasteful as blasting country music and/or rap or watching fat pyjama-clad tobacco chewers on valium hitting a ball with a stick for like 6 hours.

For "Fancy That": where the hell did you get this information regarding Australian men & women???? Aussie women are just as empowered as American women are, perhaps even more so!!!

I as quickly as knew an American who laughed at himself. He grew to grow to be easy-headed and fell right into a river. After a million/2 an hour we fished him out, alongside with a paying for trolley and an previous boot. He found out a powerful lesson that day, and has under no circumstances laughed at himself or his united states of america when you consider that. are not getting me incorrect, i've got not met many human beings, that's basically the few that I even have met....

There's a point to this, Americans do tend to think that they own the world to some point. Which is rubbish.
But you are forgetting that America is only big in America!
In Europe we're more likely to listen to brit pop or euro pop and see movies made in Europe. Of course there are many american movies, but that's mainly the teenagers that watch it. For the rest of us there are constant film festivals with movies from all over the world. I think that europeans are more aware of the rest of the world than Americans, I don't know about Australia or Asia; haven't been there.
I don't think that European culture has been over americanized at all, we're proud not to be Americans (this being said without trying to offend anyone).

I think Americans are taught that America was colonized by much of the world, not the other way around

America has not colonized any other country, the Americas were colonized by Great Britain, France, and Spain

I think we nearly have colonized the pop culture of the world. The only other nation with a significant global influence is Japan (anime). But that certainly doesn't mean we've colonized the world itself.

You were mostly making sense until you mentioned "judgement day."

You sound lovely, your right Australia is far more peacefull, we dont envy anyone, television is why American popular culture has spread and thrived. They did try to engulve the Phillipines and slaughtered 250,000 citizens, so their not all rosey, come to Sydney, you will love it.

you must understand that America has always been a refuge for the desparately poor, we took in the people whose own country didn't want.

So many of us do retain a 'prosperity mentality' due to our poor ancestry. We struggle with drawing the line between prosperity and materialism.

But, America is also very quick to change courses and within your own life time you may see a direct swing away from materialism.

But from what I've heard, Australians have their own problems, like the men are chauvenistic and women are second class citizens.

If it weren't for America, you'd be living in a hovel speaking Japanese right now.

America never gets any credit for all the good it has brought to the world in its 200+ years.
