I would tell them so they wouldn't get in trouble and maybe lose their job. I was a cashier before so I would want someone to tell me. I gave $40 in money back to a cashier at Kroger even before I became a cashier though.

I tried to tell the girl at the register she had given me too much change, especially because it was her first week and I didn't want her to get into trouble. She had done the math herself and it was wrong, she gave us almost $18 too much in change. She wouldn't believe me and got mad at me because she felt she was right.
When I was a very very poor uni student, as opposed to the less poor one I am now lol I used to take the change. Sometimes the extra dollar made a lot of difference to me. I still feel kind of bad about it though...

The last time that happened to me, I got $27 change when I should have gotten only $7. I returned it.

I've tried to, but they only believe the computer. Most young people can't make change anymore. They rely on electronics.
