(ANS) The press, the media are dreadful for spinning yarns, half truths, bending the facts to fit their own agendas in order to win rating and sell more papers.

**OK! call me cynical but the papers lie and lie and lie all the time, day in day out. They blow the truth up and make something out of nothing. Invent or fabricate stories about the McCann's to suit themselves. I wouldn't believe much or anything written in the press these days (perhaps with the exception of the Guardian newspaper as they come the closest to least biased opinion in my view).

**The McCann's case was made far far worse by the Portuguese police having a policy of not talking to the media, this led to an information vacuum and this was filled by wild speculations and wild rumors which of cause the press loved.

Both to a degree - the media are trying to resolve the issue in the only way they know - the MCanns just seem to be changing their story every day - the most interesting thing that I have read is that they were part of a 'swingers' group - along with the others over there - and what strikes me as funny is the fact that this is one part (to my knowledge - I may be corrected) that they haven't denied - they deny every thing else

Morning just me. Two sides of the same coin. Nothing to chose as far as I can see. Maybe the media are still hedging their bets. They want to be on the, "Winning side", no matter what the true outcome. After the premature "canonisation" of the McCanns, they are being a bit more circumspect on what they print. Can't see the British Press publishing anything that will make them look silly again. They will wait for Portuguese media and re-hash.

They both are. Although the media speculate on everything. For example the body is in the church or the sea. Yet the police haven't searched the church. Thepolice are very slow and inadequate.

I agree with Andrew T2. Its also funny that the minute the police said that they were suspects, they came running back to England. If one of my children had disappeared, I would never let my other children out if my sight again, I certainly would not have left them in a foreign country and gone gallivanting around the world meeting the Pope and such like!! The saying "deny,deny,deny" comes to mind.
