guns don't kill people all by themselves, the person holding the gun does. so if your speeding in your car, is the car driving all by itself?

Good point. Neither would Excuse a person. A person does wonder with all the talk of guns protecting rights that those who talked of protecting theirs never thought of the rights of citizens in other countries like South America. Then put the idea to test of what rights they had by announcing their intent to arrest any of their leaders or coproprate types involved and to turn them over to an International Criminal Court to face War Crimes Trials. If this is so then the army could not oppose them if they desired to as The President works for the people and answers to The People not the other way around . If The President at any point were to be involved in War Crimes it is the duty of The People to arrest The President if no one else will.

Not exactly, but you have to wonder why when in America the top speed limit is 65, auto manufacturers insist on building cars that can go 120+ MPH. Engine computers today can easily be pre-programmed to prevent a car from reaching such unnecessarily high speeds without sacrificing performance or acceleration. Of course, that won't prevent you from speeding in a 30 or 55 MPH zone, but it would probably put an end to the dangerous car chases that cops sometimes have to engage in to capture fleeing suspects.

That's not a good way of thinking about gun control. It has everything to do with access and convenience. You can't mow down an entire classroom of Kindergarteners with a car, but you can with an automatic weapon. I'm an advocate of being able to bear arms, but I do believe there is a certain amount of control the government must exercise as well.

Everybody is responsible for their own actions.
People who pick up guns are putting other peoples lives at risk and people who speed on the roads and do not drive responsibly are doing the same thing and should be willing to suffer the consequences for their actions.

at columbine, they used pipe bombs and wanted to poison the food. but you dont hear anyone wanting a waiting period on pipes .
also, if the parole board lets a man out who has made it clear that he will kill again, you can not blame the parole board, you are required to blame the gun he used.
everybody knows if a killer cant not get his hands on a gun, he will go to bible study instead. the gun makes him kill.
years ago, in calif, a man raped a young woman, hacked off her arms and left her to die in the desert. she survived. the courts almost hurt themselves getting this man back onto the street. they were very upset when they tried to set him up in a new apartment, and everybody attacked him.
the warden said he was a very nice guy.
that is why i own firearms.
"YodasTatoo" - Hitler killed classrooms of kindergardeners without automatic weapons. he called them "showers".

Guns and cars must not be blamed for deaths of people but the person who negligently use these must be held responsible under the law by being meted with the appropriate penalties.
