Truth. Acquiring your hearts desire is only worthwhile without the fear of truth. Otherwise, it's just a delusion. So many people say that truth is the best thing and what they want most of all. But few don't get hurt or affected in some other negative way by it at some point. It's just life. Roll with the punches, accept what's true and use that knowledge to get what you most desire.

Heart's desire would probably bring me more happiness then truth as most times the truth hurts and I need a break from pain.

This is an easy decision. With truth one has their hearts desire. Truth is love in it's purest form. I would pick Truth any day over anything!
