Actually, humankind has become a lot more civilized, history and statistics have shown. We are not as barbaric as we were back in the dark ages (ever heard of being "drawn and quartered"?) Renaissance or even WWII. Individually people become more paranoid over time due to personal experiences, especially if it's highly traumatic. Mass paranoia happens when too many people actually believe the BS in the media or the BS their leaders tell them ie: "mission accomplished" . Keep in mind, what they DON'T tell us is what we should be worried about. I for one think sometimes ignorance can be bliss.

Under ever increasing complexities, people are going out of their minds and becoming either more paranoid or more humanoid, as we do have a lower consciousness and a higher consciousness.
