Canned beans haven't been used since WWII for two reasons:
1) The rationing that took place during the war.
2) The sonar and radar technologies became sophisticated enough to allow for reptoid alien mind control without canned beans.

No, they prefer fresh beans, bought at the local farmer's market.
PS I should tell you that they REALLY don't like to be called "reptoids" in public. They prefer "The Monitor People."

hello. Actually the reptoids have managed to make us 'control' ourselves FOR them, with tv commercials that sell all kinds of pharmaceuticals, and paranoia about drinking only their bottled water.

yes! the canned beans are exhausting our intellect and discharging it from our bodies via the alimentary canal.
after being exhausted into the atmosphere the intellectual gasses are then able to be inhaled by the aliens who then either go into politics or ask vapid questions via cyberspace.

yes they are they have infiltrated our supermarkets posing as loss leading canned beans only to contain additives which alter the mind with carcinogens
