If you feel comfortable, you should go to show your respects, but most of all, to support your sister. She will need someone to be strong for her if she finds herself upset. =(

I say go, nothing is wrong with paying your respects to a person especially if they were a nice person, yeah at first its gonna feel akward, so sit in the back, take someone you know, listen to what everybody has to say, give him some flowers or a rose, tell the really sad people if you can that you are soo sorry for their lost and how nice of a guy he was or a funny memory, therefore at least you'll know you made somebody feel a bit better, cause if you dont go, sooner or later your gonna wish you did when you think back about him and the few times. so go pay your respects...

It is up to you but you do not have to be close to someone
to go and show you care a funeral is a good way to say bye
and your sister could need your support. Sorry to here about
a boy of that age to leave so soon I think you know the right thing to do.

Show your respect and attend the funeral, you'll waist 2 hours of your life but you will support a grieving family that lost a son at such young age

If you're going to the funeral for closure or to pay respect, then go.
If you don't really want to go but feel obligated for some reason, then don't go.
You have to look in your heart and do what you feel is best for you. You don't have to attend a funeral to miss/ remember/ pay respect to someone that's passed away.

There is nothing wrong with paying your respects. If you have to ask yourself "should I go?" then you should. Go with your sister and if you feel uncomfortable, sit in the back and leave early.

Doesn't matter how long you knew him, if you liked and respected him, then pay your final respects by celebrating his life at his funeral.
