He will go where the best deal is. Alex Rodriguez , like many other high priced players, is first and foremost concerned about his own well being.

I also agree with stevecar. A-Fraud will go where he feels he gets the most money. A-Fraud, Payrod...etc. who would want him in the long run for half a billion dollars when he can get you to the dance but can't take you all the way when he gets you home? Teams would be better off to spread the cash around, sign some quality guys and build a championship caliber team if they do not already have one. If a team is already championship caliber, they probably just have some weak spots to shore up on and do not need to commit a half a billion dollars to do so. Besides - can anyone guarantee that he is still producing MVP numbers at age 45? Look at Bonds. He is breaking down and will probably be going to an AL team so he can DH. Is that what some team wants from a player making half a billion off of them - a player in his 40's who is the DH making approx. $185,000 per game? Some lunatic owner will probably do it. In the end, I think it blows up in their face and they get stuck with a contract hanging over their head that does not allow them to go after quality free agents and no one else will want to assume the contract.

I agree with Stevecar, he will go to whomever offers him the most. Unfortunately I think that may be the Yanks. As a Yankees fan, I hope he ops out, yes he put up impressive offensive numbers in the regular season, but I always felt the money they spend on him should have went to get good pitching. History has always shown no matter how good a team is offensively, it's pitching, pitching and more pitching that win games, and that why as great as the Yanks lineup is they have done poorly the last few years in post season and they will continue to do poorly in post season as long as they have a team built around offense, no matter how great their lineup is. If he does leave the Yanks, I think the Cubs, White Sox, Angels, or Red Sox will be the only teams that can afford to give him what he wants.

Bet he wishes now the Players Union approved his trade to the Red Sox.
The Yankees can give him all the cash they want, but the one thing he cant get in NY is the love. And he needs that. The fans will never accept him to the level he wants and he gets all the criticism while the Golden boy Jeter gets a free pass on everything. Even having subpar years and worse playoff appearances.

'06 replaced into final year, and he did no longer choose out. i comprehend you mean '07, and an impressive variety of communities will bypass after him. It replaced into initially theory that he might stay, no longer desirous to offer up the final 3 years of his extensive settlement, yet with the money that Soriano and Carlos Lee have been given, A-Rod additionally gets a brilliant settlement if he opts out. i can work out him going to the Angels, White Sox, or Cubs. i think of the Angels could be the front runner.

What's this fascination about him going to the Cubs?
A-Rod came to the Yankees because he wanted to win a championship. If he couldn't do it with them, do you really think he would go to the Cubs?

No its not him. It's his agent. Boras will not let him get less than what he already has. It's Boras and guys like him which have driven up market values.
