I am an old amateur, I mean I used to skate a decade ago. I need to know places that don't have skating ordinances, and higher chances no-one will see me make a fool of myself. Five stars if your answer rocks!

Around the city there are several abandoned shopping centers and malls, (example would be the Super K-mart on the access road to I-410 between Marbach and Hwy. 90) That would give you several hundred feet with which to skate. I would stay in the outer area as getting to close to the building might raise an eyebrow or two. I have seen the kids on skate boards there and I haven't seen the Police run them off from there. Just an Idea.

Depends on where you live. I live in the north east side and I've been successfully inline skating at a plaza where they have doctors offices for quite some time and haven't been chased off by the police or the doctors. Aside from that I can think of two parks, but unless you are experienced at hilly turf they may not be right for you (Mcallister and Phil Hardburger park).

Sweet Lou...Ice...Inline...Roller???

If you are talking inline or roller, then many people like using the drainage canals. They make decent places to skate when it is not raining. Just make sure you are clear of them and watch the weather as floods happen quickly here. Otherwise, I would stick to some of the area parks. If you go during the week, most have lots of free area so you wouldn't be disturbed.
