Let's just get down to it
and ban ALL risky behavior and be done with it !!
Lets's :
put governors on vehicles that ensure that they can't go over 60 mph ---
let's do away with kitchen knives that are more than 4" long ---
make it illegal to consume fatty foods ---
and heavily fine those that are grossly obese ---
ban alcohol consumption ---
casterate fathers of more than three illegitimate children ---
ban ATV's ---
lock up people who remove their mattress tags ---
ban skateboards ---
require people who buy ski masks to register ---
outlaw tinted windows ---
require everyone to get a microchip ---
I could go on and on and on ---- where does it end ??
start legislating people's behaviors in search of the utopian ideal --- and it never ends !!
At what point do people take responsibility for their OWN actions and realize that THEIR preferrences are just THAT -- their's and no one else's !!
Banning smoking simply creates a "black market" society and takes the tax base from these products sales away to be called on by higher taxes from everyone !!
Banning guns simply means that the outlaw factions of the world can do their dirty work unopposed by those that MIGHT have something to fight back with !!
Congress has been in business writing laws for well over two hundred years that regulate and restrict this "Free" society !! When is there going to be enough laws ?? Never ? --- will we continue to see our everyday lives regulated more and more over time ? At what point does this regulation become thoroughly intrusive and opressing to the social order ? Where are the limits TO this regulation and manipulation of social behavior ? Where is the line ?
Time is long overdue for people to wake up and see that unregulated "lawmaking" in and of itself is detremental to the social order !! And, allowed to continue, unchecked, every single one of us will see the day that our own lives are invaded by someone's view in Washington that sees how we live as being "against the grain" of "proper and accepted norms" !!!

1). Let smoking be banned but only to a limitation. Smoking with a license will make many citizens APPEAL and many angry. It's not fair nor is it constitutional. I don't smoke but smoking bans in my opinion is a violation of freedom.
As long as it's not in airports or stores, let people make the decision when and where to smoke.
As for guns, banning guns won't stop killings. You can kill someone with your fist if you wanted to. Guns don't kill people; people kill people. Plus, our Constitution states we have the RIGHT to bear arms.
It really comes down to a balance. Leaning one side or leaning the other will not solve the problem. You need to be able to balance BOTH out respectfully.

No on both.
If you need more information, in 2007, zero people were killed by a gun or cigarette doing nothing but laying on the table.
Lets ban murdering people with guns. And lets let smokers kill themselves if they so choose.

You got some mixed up data their pasquali
tobacco killed more than guns by lung cancer and heart disease.
You better back up the truck and get new info.
If you ban guns "except in special place" it would be illegal to carry it to "special place"
that is a dumb suggestion.

You are freaken high if you think we are going to buy your fake statistics. Heart disease is the leading killer in America today and smoking is a risk factor for heart disease. Smoking is the leading cause of lung disease another big killer. Smoking is a risk factor in several potentially fatal diseases. Don't tell me that guns kill 8 times more.
