Hmmmmmmmmm hell no, we didn't grow up with any of the stuff they have today. Phones and Ipod and texting, X Box and play station oh and lets not forget My space. We went out and did stuff and had fun, most kids today sit on their computers 24/7 wasting their time and life away on My space. These days it's all about who has what, and who doesn't and how much it cost. And most kids these day don't have the respect, and don't understand the value of a dollar.

I think there are some differences due to technology and there each generation has its own character but we are more a like than I realized. This story is from my great-great-grandfather's diary written just before the turn of the century. He had a prize stallion, fast powerful horse. His kids weren't aloud to ride it. So he caught them one night sneaking the horse out of the barn with sacks covering the hoofs so the horseshoes wouldn't make noise. Sounds like kids sneaking out their dad's hotrod. So some parts of human nature must be timeless.

This is a joke question - right? I've saw kids in stores that wouldn't accept coins as change! They would tell the cashier "keep it". They would only accept paper money as change.

And I used to walk on the street curb looking for penny's on my way to school!

Speaking of that ~+~ I either walked or rode my bike to school. Now days the kids get a ride home (1 kid) in a SUV!

Speaking of that ~+~ I had a paper route. I delivered papers every day. Now days, mom or dad takes the kid around in a SUV to deliver papers.

Enuf enuf

The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers - Socrates

They're the same as past generations

No Way! Kids are so different today! When I was a kid it was fantasy sci fi to think of carrying a telephone in your pocket with out a cord? Many other things too.
