Obviously we were lied to. You can't believe anything they tell you in school. I'm glad I dropped out after the 8th grade.

It's too early in the day to be so literal. George Washington, against his better instincts, agreed to lead the colonies in their revolt against King George. Fortunately, the colonies prevailed, making Washington the hero, and the first president, thus the "father" of the country.
