Given you allow yourself the relaxation to a somewhat hypnotic like state between consicousness and sleep....I'd say it's very very possible you can direct your memories to that very point you seek to mentally relive.

As far as actually reliving physical sensations.....that's a gray area I personally have doubts can be acheived.

Not at all. In fact, I do my best to dismiss them as quickly as they invade my thoughts. All the time you waste thinking about the past, is time missed being mentally present.
