I don't know what Bears fans you know but I have been anticipating the substitution of Rex for a long time. It's about loyalty to stick with the person that is supposed to lead your team even if they really aren't leading the team.
Seeing as how Rex was on the injured list for two years, came into his first full starting season as the Bears QB and we went to the SB that was awesome! But now, even after going into his second year, he is still not comfortable with some of the plays. Because of the doubt he has created around him, the offensive line can't trust him. When the QB doesn't believe in his ability, the players won't either.
I am stoked that Griese is in and I will support him through thick and thin, just as I did Rex. Our team isn't that great right now, but we need to start making key draft picks in order to get back to where we used to be.. the number one defensive line in the NFL and actually have people fear the Monsters of the Midway instead of dubbing us the Disasters of the Midway.
Maybe the people you're talking too aren't true Bears fans and are bandwagon fans that will like the Packers next season or even the Cowboys.

I see Griese as a temporary fix. He's smart, efficient, but he's proven throughout his career that he can't really develop into a marquis QB. He's had a terrible track record in big games, his mobility is pretty much a joke, his arm isn't exceptionally strong... Personally, I think he should fit in well w/ da Bears system, but I would like to see a younger and more electric playmaker in there (NOT a Wrecks Grossman, though b/c Chicago can't afford to turn the ball over)
When da Bears are right, the defense is firece and they run the ball a lot. They really only need a QB who can be smart w/ the football, make the short throws accurately and occassionally stretch the field on a playaction. Griese can do that. He's really only effective on the post or an in route, something in between the hashes, when he goes deep.
Right now, I'm most upset w/ Cedric Benson. He sucks. Thomas Jones was better, but the front office knew that Lovie would never bench Jones for Benson so they traded Jones for nobody and now they're stuck w/ Benson and he's not getting it done. The guy has NO moves. NONE. The D also has a lot of injuries, which doesn't help.
There was a game last year against the Jets where Chicago simply fed Thomas Jones. I loved it! TJ had over 100 yards rushing. Grossman was like 8/13 passing. The D was smashmouth. Chicago won 10-0. That's Bear football!

Because You're Rival is the Green Bay Packers and whose their Quarterback Brett Favre and its his 38th Birthday Today, AS a Bears Fan myself I'm jealous of the Packers having the Same QB for 15 Years and we had twenty different QB's since.
Overtime we didn't need a QB We need a Defense and Special Teams, to Kill everyone else QB's Especially Green Bay's but I hope Griese is in for the Long Run, But I say something never be kind to those Cheeseheads GO BEARS.

If Griese was a rookie, I would agree with you. The fact is that Brian Griese has been a journeyman QB that, at best, can win a couple of games for you and that is it. He can't handle the day-to-day pressures of a starting QB.
The Bears has opportunites to grab any of the veterans that were available, but they ignored the writing on the wall. Now there is no one left and they will have to make do with what they have.

Oh god i'm hoping that's not a style of two.... i individually sense we choose a veteran in right here yet while not then it probable would be Caleb Hanie and you won't be indignant by potential of human beings who think of our QB project is horrid, yet i'm as a results of fact human beings act like we've the worst project, yet at QB we've it extra ideal than somewhat some communities that's basically what i think of

Historical Bears "fans" are idiots. They got wildly lucky last year they had a good defense. Now there 15 mins of fame are over and they will crawl back into the pit they crawled out of never to be heard from again.

Both of the answerers are correct; the QB is not the biggest problem on the team, not even the second problem.
